21 Apr 2011 : IMPORTANT PARKING INFO
Please do not park in the lane that runs between the ground and the church.
This is a private road and we have been asked by the owners not to use it.
Parking is only allowed on St Mary's Lane.
At weekends, when conditions allow please park on the field by the nets, as  local church weddings generate a lot of extra traffic.

Thank you for your cooperation

22 Jul 2010 : GEOFF SLIPPER, SOUTHGATE CC
We are saddened to learn that an old friend of the club, Geoff Slipper of Southgate CC died at home this morning, after a battle with cancer.

Geoff dates from the days when we first played Southgate 'A' home and away on a Saturday, and had such good times they were part of the original midweek games that became the cricket week. He and his wife Pat came on the Club's 1990 Barbados Tour.

The club's sympathy and condolences go out to Geoff's family and friends.
Funeral arrangements and tributes on Southgate's own website are below:

12 Jul 2010 : FUNNY OLD GAME...
In a weekend that saw a tied 40 over game with last man Bernard being bowled off the penultimate ball, the honours ultimately went to our U15s...

After scoring an under-par 103 for 8 in their friendly at home to Wormley, the 'Bury U15s were always up against it, especially as Wormley then eased to 102 for 5 with four overs left. We all thought it was 'start the car' time.
But you never know......and in over 16 Brandon Greenhill returned to the attack and took his maiden hat trick as three Wormley batters obligingly hit the ball to first cover, then point, then short third man - and remarkably all three catches were held.
In over 17 skipper Sam Tilbey returned to clean bowled two batsmen with balls one and six, which meant Wormley had lost 5 wickets for no runs in 10 balls....and the match with it
