Match report A patched up Bury side lost their final league game - but as has been the case most of the season, gave the visitors a good run for their money despite missing a number of key players.

Eversholt batted first on a decent pitch - and for a considerable time Bury looked well set to contain the visitors to a sub 200 score. Fuller had other ideas however, and his brutal 56 off less than 30 balls changed the complexion of the innings. He was particularly severe on Steve Rider. Scott bambling bowled well without reward and Jim Beckett bowled with skill and control to bag 6/48 - a well deserved tally on the back of a season where his figures have often not reflected how well he has bowled.

Chasing 204, Neil Darby continued his good form and put on 76 for the first wicket with Joe Satt - who scored an excellent 50 (his first for the club). a mid order collapse duly ensued and despite a wagging tail, courtesy of Beckett (37) and Bambling (29) - Bury fell short of their target by 31 runs

So the season ends and with the depleted squad this season, plus limited availability of key players - bury can be well pleased with a top half finish. And with young Will Harley, Joe Satt and one or two others returning to the fold next year - 2012 can be looked forward to with anticipation
