Match report A better effort than recent weeks with the batting showing a bit of application and protection of wickets.
Bondy & Derek built a good foundation (57) on an unpredictable surface after some rare overnight rain. Smurf and I got a little bogged down against a good spin attack but saw the first batting points up. Everyone else chipped in to get us within touching distance of maximum points, but ultimately a below par 164.
After a fine Rogers tea, Botany Bay found runs scarce against Bern's & Kev's tight lines (actually everything's looking tight on them nowadays) and the 3 Ives scalps were thoroughly deserved.
The next 2 bowling changes were crucial as Bondy & Ambles came up against Rolt & Robinson, both who would probably be playing in their 2nd XI on any other day. 32 runs off their 4 overs tilted the balance in BB's favour.
Even after dismissing those two the result was never really in doubt but we picked up some more valuable points on the way.
