Match report This was probably the strongest team we have put out this year and who knows where we might now be if this had been the case earlier in the season. The track was a little damp but the skipper still chose to bat and openers Keane and Harley Minimus carried on their fine work of the previous week. Progress was slow to start with on the damp track but when Matt fell in the 29th over with 114 on the board a solid foundation had been laid. Sam had sat with his pads on for over 90 minutes and was bowled playing a rash shot before he had played himself in. Daddy Harley then joined his son but the latter fell two overs later for a solid 59. Dominic strode to the crease no doubt inspired by his trip to Take That the previous evening and he and Simon gradually accelerated to allow an early declaration which those of little faith considered bold.
Keeping the old ball Harley and Harley opened with flight and guile and wickets fell at regular intervals. Two fines catches by Smurf were overshadowed only by his description of how he had read the mind of the opposition skipper for the first catch.
When the seamers came on the added pace allowed the OA Batsmen to play some shots so with 9 wickets down and the rain clouds approaching the skipper brought Tom back on who duly obliged in taking the final wicket just as the heavens opened.
