Match report A return to winng ways for Bury - ultimately in spectacular fashion.

Harps won the toss and elected to bat on pitch offering low slow bounce.Scott Bambling and Jim Beckett began tidily - with little in the pitch to encourage either. Skipper Palmer quickly switched to Rider's slow stuff and Bury began to eke out wickets. Rider reeled off 22 overs, seam alternating at the opposite end. Harps younsters Washington and May both made patient 50s (the former with the aid of some dropped catches) - Rider finished with 5-56, Beckett with 2 - 47. Charlie Martin was offered five chances in the outfield and pouched three inheriting the Gibbons "ball magnet " mantle for the day. John George also enjoyed a moment to forget - missing a swirler whilst undertaking a "man lost in fog" impression. At tea the game seemed nicely poised with Bury set 178 to win and Harps looking to make use of the pitted track

Bury lost neil Darby early, and at 2-1 it looked as though a tough aftrenoon was in prospect. Dan Gronert came in at three and survived a difficult chance in the slips without scoring. He then began hitting the bowling to all parts, scoring 137 not out off 99 balls with eight sixes (a record for Bury in a league match)

Tony Rymer (15) featured in a partnership of 91 for the second wicket, Simon Harley (12) in one of 75 for the third and the game was won in the 34th over.
