Match report Another disappointing defeat with the lack of runs giving the bowlers no chance.

After winning the toss (we have a 100% record this year!), Bury had first use of what looked like a good track but with some accurate bowling by Hyde, we were 32-1 off 15 overs with the Senior Pro already lighting up on the boundary, having tried to cut a short one, missed and was bowled.

Brady (S) turned up for his one (and only?) game of the season and was starting to show his obvious (?!) class when he got one that stopped and was caught.

Messrs Goodwin and Cowell again showed they could occupy the crease.

Skipper Anderson was required at 51-3 and put on 50 with Cowell who slashed at one and was sharply taken at 2nd slip for a useful 15.

Spong and Thrussell didn't last long and when the skipper was out trying to hit over the top when the score was on 121, the end of the innings was in sight. Young Pearcey again showed how to club the ball and was not out at the end. 131 was never going to be enough.

'Moss's Mum' did an excellent tea (thanks Cate) and the bowlers all looked like they had eaten too many home made cakes.

We managed to get rid of their skipper, caught off the old war horse Ives and the other opener succumbed to cramp - no really!

Some tidy bowling at the end by Cowell, Cozins and Pearcy delayed the inevitable and Hyde were home by 8 wickets with plenty of overs to spare.

The difference today was the accuracy of the oppo's bowling attack - the pick being Tindle who bowled leg-cutters up the hill and ended with 3-21 from 15 overs and young Rajput - 2-16 off 12 overs with his away swing.

The Bury bowlers, please take note!
